Why laughter is the best medicine?

As most of us remain so much busy in work these days to cope up with the fast pacing life of today, we forget to spend time for ourselves too. Today’s life becomes stressful and demands more and more energy and power to do the work.

So, we all must perfom yoga poses and spend at least some spare time for ourselves and others. For this, we can choose the path of laughter.

Laughter is the best medicine so as yoga is. It is a kind of exercise which relaxes all organs of the body. It greatly helps us a lot. It relaxes our mind and the body. It relieves us from worries, tensions, anger, and stress, grief and irritation and brings delight. It is a totally a boon for all of us. It provides a physical and emotional release. The benefits and the advantages of laughter are non ending.

What is laughter yoga?

Laughter Yoga is a new form of exercise akin to internal jogging that promotes the use of laughter as a form of physical exercise. Quite a few people wonder how a person can laugh when he is in no mood to laugh or when one doesn’t have any reason to laugh. The answer is very simple. There is a link between the body and the mind. Whatever happens to the mind happens to body as well.

If a person is sad and depressed, his body also appears quite lifeless and sluggish,such a person doesn’t talk or walk enthusiastically. But what most people fails to understand is that opposite is also true. Whatever happens to the body also happens to the mind.

I remember, “once my father telling me,” if you are sad, don’t sit idle. Keep doing some physical work or go for a walk or go out to play some outdoor games,you will feel better. “And it works always.

It aims to use the two-way body mind link to change the state of mind through voluntary physical gestures which include specific body movements along with laughter and breathing exercises. It is a combination of breath-, yoga poses, extending- and stretching exercises based Yoga, which can be combined with pantomime and playful exercises.

We don’t laugh because we are happy – we are happy because we laugh.” This sentence is attributed by the indian doctor Madan Kataria. He is considered to be the spititual father of Laughter Yoga– Animation. Wheter we pretnend as if we are laughing or if we laugh truly from our heart: it makes no difference to the pleasure centers in the brain . The positive effect of a smile drops if it is a faked smile.

What are results of laughter yoga?

The result is so positive. It is all about playfulness. Have you ever wondered why children laugh 300 to 400 times a day whereas adult would consider themselves very fortunate if they manage laughter 10 to 15 times a day? This is because of that seriously interfering tools called brain! Adult use brains or mind first and comprehend humor and then decide to laugh. Yoga for kids, who don’t allow themselves to be too affected by their brain, laugh the most while playing. Even if they fall in mud and slime while playing,they laugh heartily without bothering about the consequences of soiling their spotlessly white dress. Their laugh comes straight from the body.

Laughter yoga : Clear distinction between happiness and Joy.

Happiness is a conditional response of the mind which is totally dependent on the fulfillment of certain desires of the mind. It’s their mind relate only past and future only! It’s not there at all in the present moment. Happiness depends on material desires, goals or aspirations – new job, New car etc. On the other hand Joy is the unconditional commitment to be happy in each moment, to have fun for the moment, despite the problems and challenges of life. It is the promise that during these periods of playfulness triggered by the physical activities like – dancing, singing and laughing.

What laughter actually affect in body?

Laughter boosts the immune system. It improves our alertness, creativity and memory too. Laughter brings a positive attitude in us. It greatly helps us in filling our lives with enthusiasm and increased productivity. It also helps in fighting diseases. Yoga  can improve our health. It reduces pain and allows us to tolerate discomfort. It reduces blood sugar levels. It creates positive emotional environment among the people and help in discouraging violence and fight. It fills new kind of energy and life in us and adds spice to our lives. Everyone must smile and laugh as it is very beneficial. A person must develop his sense of humor.

A good sense of humor is very helpful in dealing with all the negative stress and anxiety. The person having good sense of humor is liked by everyone. One should make others laugh too.
